Hello, Autumn

And so it begins. I celebrate Fall 2010 by baking an apple crisp, from scratch. Anne bought 7 apples and about a cup of oatmeal. Thanks, Anne!

I peeled the apples, mixed in sugar, flour and lemon juice and set aside while I toasted walnuts, and mixed brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, oats, butter, salt and something else I probably forgot.

Then I mooshed it all together and dumped the apples in the buttered pan. The crumbly topping came next. And there was a LOT of it.

45 minutes later, you see the results.

I have to tell you, it tasted fantastic.

Other than that, it was a day of doing relatively nothing. I did the usual job searching on the interwebs, made a couple follow-up calls and tried to keep the dogs happy.

But at the moment, I am still "under-employed". I'm wondering at what point I will stop referring to myself as "under-employed" and start calling myself a "freelancer". There's a little more dignity and responsibility in that title.

I do, after all, freelance for several radio stations in town, and work on voice-over and production projects.

It's off to acupuncture, if I can stand it, tomorrow, then a choir meeting.

I have to show you my choir:

Pretty cool, huh? You won't see me singing though. I'm holding the camera (and singing in the background). I was waylaid by a blood clot in my left leg. Couldn't stand for that long, and wasn't supposed to move too much. But I'm so proud of the new Seattle Center for Spiritual Living Choir! They did a great job.

Fall is always a time of transitions and change for me. Good changes. I'm looking forward to what lies ahead.
